- OK
- I know you are all dying to answer this question, so, here it is.
- I just got an addtional A2000. It is identical in hardware and software to my
- current A2000 with one exception. The old A2000 has a GVP 030 - 12 meg RAM,
- and the new A2000 has GVP 040 - 20 meg RAM. They are ParNeted and WaveLinked.
- I had no problemo getting the WaveLink started on the Host (New A2000), and
- both LW programs began rendering. The output was directed to the PAR (Only on
- the old (A2000).
- Oh! I was so happy to have two machines rendering this mondo big, refractive,
- crystaline scene I was half way through rendering.
- Well, two days later, I came in and it had crashed, even though I waited around
- for a little while before leaving. The 20 or so frames it had rendered to the
- PAR (220 to 240) had the dreaded Squiggle, flip, jerk in it at the end.
- And worse, the PAR would lock up after playing the Anim.
- WHAT GIVES?
- Is it the differnt speeds at which the two GVP accellerators are rendering, and
- , therefore, not imparting the frames in the correct order?
- Oh, please, help.
- I want to use these two machines together for greater rendering power.
-
- BTW, I had a query about the settings for a realistic crystal surface awhile
- back. Didn't get a responce. That is OK, I have had responces on other items.
- But, after working awhile, I have an excellent crystal surface. The settings
- can be a little unorthodox, but some may not be aware of the possibilties. If
- there is an interest I can post what I done, or upload object to Tomahawk site.
- Or, I see that LW Pro has a refractive acticle in the upcoming October issue,
- and we can just wait.
-
- Thanks A Gigabyte in advance.
